COMPLETE TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY STUDIES MISSION

Mission of complete technical feasibility studies, summary draft and definitive draft, hydrogeological and geophysical project of the project to strengthen drinking water supply systems in 21 localities in benin

    • THE MINISTRY IN CHARGE OF WATER

MISSION OF COMPLETING TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY STUDIES, SUMMARY AND DEFINITIVE DRAFTS, HYDROGEOLOGICAL AND GEOPHYSICAL PROJECT TO STRENGTHEN DRINKING WATER SUPPLY SYSTEMS IN 21 LOCALITIES IN BENIN: ALLADA, GLO -DJIBGE, OUIDAH, SO-AVA, TOFFO, TORI-BOSSITO, ADJOHOUN, BONOU, DANGBO, AKPRO-MISSERETE, AVRANKOU, IFANGNI, POBE, ADJA-OUERE, KETOU, KANDI, MALANVILLE, SEGBANA, N’DALI, PERERE, SINANDE AND THEIR SURROUNDINGS, ON BEHALF OF THE MINISTRY IN CHARGE OF WATER AND UNDER NATIONAL BUDGET FUNDING

The objective of the study mission is to increase the production capacity of existing hydraulic infrastructures. Indeed, the National Water Company of Benin currently operates drinking water supply systems (AEP) of very different sizes supplying 69 capitals including Allada, Glo-Djibgé, Ouidah, So-Ava, Toffo, Tori-Bossito , Adjohoun, Bonou, Dangbo, Akpro-Missérété, Avrankou, Ifangni, Pobè, Adja-Ouéré, Kétou, Kandi, Malanville, Ségbana, N’Dali, Pèrèrè, Sinandé and their surrounding areas. These cities are experiencing quite significant urban development while their AEP system, which has been in service for around twenty years, has not recorded any development in extension and densification. Faced with this situation and taking into account the demographic growth observed in recent years in these cities,

The aim of the study mission is to first have a summary preliminary project study and secondly detailed technical studies on:

  • The exploitation of groundwater through the identification of well fields in the project localities for the drinking supply of 21 towns and their surroundings;
  • A summary preliminary project indicating the estimated cost of the works to be carried out for the drinking water supply of the said towns as well as a financial analysis of the variants;
  • Detailed technical studies and execution plans necessary for carrying out work to strengthen production capacities and water treatment stations, construction of water towers, water storage tanks, extension and densification of existing distribution networks.
